Maura J. Lewis is a talented educator with a track record of reaching young minds regardless of the environment. With over 15 years of experience working in the classroom and in administration, Maura is committed to the promotion of live long learning and promoting the idea that all children deserve great schools.
Maura considers herself to be a renaissance woman. When she isn’t working and trying to keep her house in order, she enjoys reading, especially African-American historical fiction, cooking, sewing and soap making. She is a Sunday School teacher and usher at the Way of Holiness Ministries in Jackson and Baton Rouge, LA.
A native of Richmond California, Maura holds a B.S. degree in computer science and mathematics from Tuskegee University and an M.A. in educational leadership from Louisiana State University. She has been married to Eric for 14 years. Together they have 3 children, Irene (13), Nya (10), and Miles (7).
